Teen Martial Arts
Q: Will Martial Arts make my teen aggressive or violent?
A: Not at all! In fact, martial arts makes teens calmer, happier, peaceful, more respectful and accepting of themselves and others. Martial arts has always been about peace, and it always will be.
Q: Can teens get injured with Martial Arts?
A: As a parent, I'm sure you've seen that teens can get injured doing just about anything. Martial Arts is no different; however, we take safety very seriously here. Yes, injuries do happen sometimes. But we do everything in our power to avoid them. We do special warm-up exercises and stretches to make sure their body is limber and flexible.
Q: My teen isn't all that athletic. Can they still participate in Martial Arts?
A: Absolutely! Martial Arts teaches teens to be strong, coordinated, and flexible. Teens who don't have these qualities naturally develop them' and those who do grow them even more. Martial arts is often a 'home' for teens who don't excel at team sports. Kids who have trouble in baseball, basketball, soccer, etc. often come to martial arts and do extremely well.
Q: Are these Martial Arts classes fun?
A: You bet they are! We're dealing with teens here and if it's not fun, they won't want any part of it. We do a variety of fun drills and activities that challenge students and keep them interested and smiling with pride. We work hard here, but we also play hard.
