Master Fisher began his martial arts career at the age of twelve when he enrolled for lessons at Shin Karate Institute in Philadelphia Pa., during his time there he had the opportunity to learn from some of the most well respected and talented master instructors in the World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA) including Master John Godwin, Louis Marvil and Nate Gordon as well as the Grandmaster of the WTSDA Jae C. Shin.

Knowing early on that teaching martial arts was a true passion for him Master Fisher had the opportunity to take over as the chief instructor of Shin Karate and the WTSDA headquarters. During his time there he helped many students achieve their goal of reaching black belt, improved physical fitness and self-defense training.

Being lucky enough to work with many fine instructors Master Fisher was able to also excel in competition, he won numerous grand champion titles as well as being the first person to win the Region 8 Championship cup three years in a row and the first person to win the WTSDA world championship cup back to back in 1996 and 1998. He now is fortunate enough to assist those students who enjoy competition to reach their goals.

In 2004 Master Fisher decided to open a full time studio in Oxford, Pa. Located at 2233 Baltimore Pike Oxford Karate Institute has been helping students develop leadership skills reach, their goal of black belt, learn how to defend themselves and get in better shape since opening their doors.

Throughout his martial arts training Master Fisher has maintained a passion for teaching as well as learning; he has continued to expand his Tang Soo Do training by working extensively in other arts such as Kudokan Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do and Brazilian Jiujutsu. He also received his Bachelor’s degree in business management from Eastern College.

Master Fisher has been fortunate enough to travel extensively throughout the United States to offer seminars in many martial arts studios as well as Boy and Girl Scout troops, other youth groups and work with numerous law enforcement officers and the Pennsylvania National Guard.

In 2016 after many years of training and dedication Master Fisher earned his 6th degree Senior Master rank in the art of Tang Soo Do and his plan is to keep moving forward and assist his students to reach the higher level of master and achieve their best in whatever they do.
